Dog Friendly Holiday Accommodation

The Granary, Bach Wen Farm and Cottages, North Wales

The Granary, Bach Wen Jess in the Paddock

Bach Wen Farm and Cottages was the ideal place to take Jess for a holiday. The cottages are next to an enclosed paddock, the Granary Cottage also has an enclosed garden but Jess much preferred the large paddock to play in! Just beyond the paddock is a private beach. Jess didn't want to leave!

Bolton's Tarn, Neaum Crag, near Ambleside

Bolton's Tarn Bolton's Tarn

Bolton's Tarn is a cosy log cabin situated in a development of log cabins at Neaum Crag, near Ambleside. There's decking around the cabin with fantastic views across to Ambleside. There's a small patio area with a BBQ and picnic table. We put pieces of bread on the table and at dusk badgers came to steal the bread, which was fantastic to see! There's plenty of excellent dog walks from Neaum Crag. There's lots of room in the log cabin and it's well equipped.

Colin's Cottage, Carradale, Mull of Kintyre

Jess at Colin's Cottage Who'd like to play in the garden?

This is the perfect weekend retreat! There's a large enclosed garden at Colin's Cottage which was brilliant for Jess. Inside, the cottage was newly decorated and really clean and tidy. There's a jewellery workshop within the same grounds as the cottage, which sells Celtic jewellery with original designs that are all made on the premises. Carradale Hotel is close-by and does great food. Carradale Beach is about 5 minutes walk from the cottage and there's lots of other walks to do. We did a great walk up through Crow Wood and could see for miles from the top.

The Lodge, Clachaig Inn, Glencoe

Clachaig Inn

At the Clachaig Inn, we stayed in one of the dog friendly lodges, shown to the left of the main building. We had an ensuite room, which was quite basic but clean and comfortable. Everybody at The Clachaig Inn is really welcoming and it's a really dog friendly place. After a day walking in Glencoe (in the rain!) we had a lovely meal in the restaurant, Jess came too and enjoyed one of her Kongs! Then we spent the evening in The Boots Bar, which has a great atmosphere, usually bustling with hillwalkers and climbers, and is also dog friendly. The food served at The Clachaig Inn is delicious and Jess waited very patiently when they called out the food orders!

MacRuari Apartment, Garmoran Square, Mingarry

MacRuari Cottage

The MacRuari apartment is luxury at its best, situated on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. All the furnishings are modern and there's lots of personal touches, such as fresh bread and jam on arrival, chocolates and fluffy bathrobes! There's a large window in the living area and Jess loved to spend time watching all the wildlife. There's lots of walks nearby, we enjoyed walks to the Singing Sands and Ariundle Oakwoods near Strontian. This is the perfect place to escape to.

1 Rose Cottages, St Agnes, Cornwall

1 Rose Cottages

This is a beautiful cosy cottage in the small town of St Agnes within 5 minutes walk from Trevaunance Cove and close to shops and bars. When we arrived after our long journey there were rawhide chews for Jess and 2 bottles of wine and a fresh loaf of bread for us! The cottage is very clean and well equipped. There is a small patio garden with a BBQ and this leads onto a larger shared garden with the neighbouring cottages.

The Rowan Tree Country Hotel, near Aviemore

The Rowan Tree is an amazing hotel! The rooms are lovely, really clean and modern. The food served in the restaurant is delicious. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming to dogs, Jess definitely enjoyed her stay at such a lovely hotel. There's lots of walks nearby, we walked around the Lily Loch and visited Loch Morlich too.
